The cabinet is a steel structure designed to house various types of equipment and/or materials.
In the industrial sector, the function of the cabinet is completed by becoming an essential tool for safety and management.
Therefore, it is a fundamental tool to ensure the safety of the entire system and workplace: safety is exactly what we have been focusing on here at Barum Group with the goal to create the best products we offer to our industrial partners.
It is meticulous and detailed work that allows us to produce cutting-edge cabinet systems at an advantageous price with truly unique characteristics.
Let’s discover them together.
Cabinet/closet
There are cabinets of different shapes and sizes, known as cabinets.
With this definition, reference is made to those functional spaces that are used to contain, in maximum safety, tools and equipment for chemicals, optimising the spaces and isolating them from external factors, such as low and high temperatures that could damage the contents. These cabinets are able to minimise the risks arising from storage, protecting not only the content but also all operators working nearby. In this regard, they are also able to withstand flammable liquids, reducing the risk of fire. The fireproof level is usually for temperatures below 38°, but at Barum Group we can meet different requests and provide customised solutions.
Another fundamental element is the technological evolution that we will explore below.
As we will see, cabinets are mainly designed for the petrochemical industry (LINK TO THE ARTICLE) because safety and functionality are their main strengths. A type of functional layout to organise and optimise spaces safely.
Acting as authentic insulators of substances that would otherwise be harmful, these elements embody an ideal solution in chemical or oil structures. The steel or similar coatings, both internal and external, give cabinets that useful property in the field of handling hazardous materials. We refer to the insulation and preservation of optimal temperatures and climatic characteristics. Cabinets are equipped with an automatic door, which closes when there are hazards, and if necessary, its opening is guaranteed by an automatic fuse.
In addition, these arrangements provide for the reduction of humidity, which is harmful to many chemicals. In short, these cabinets play a fundamental role in ensuring the safety of workers and the materials being treated in their industrial use. A very useful declination for which they have assumed an increasingly important value over the years. Finally, the cabinets we produce are without side reinforcements and therefore offer additional surface area for wiring, while the hinges are hidden and removable.
We take care of every single detail to offer the market the best possible solutions.
The peculiarities of our cabinets
Our cabinets are made entirely of stainless steel AISI 4404-316/4301-304 or painted galvanised steel, with customisable dimensions according to customer needs and can be equipped with holes for cable passage and similar. They are also provided with a door with a sealing gasket, for internal visibility of the cabinet and, where necessary, a shatterproof transparent glass window can be mounted on the door, ensuring clear vision from the outside even when fully closed. Designed and built by Barum Group with utmost care and attention in order to obtain a superior quality product that guarantees the best structural resistance over time.
Another element to consider is that the cabinets can have bottom plates or brol profiles for equipment mounting, according to the plant’s needs and, if necessary, they can be equipped with IP 65 protection. Our cabinets can be made with plates for floor or wall mounting and can be insulated for both low and high temperatures.
Pressurised cabins with transportable dimensions are built on a solid and non-deformable base for lifting and unloading at full load. The carbon steel structures with industrial paint are designed with structural calculations to fully meet customer needs. Thanks to extensive experience in the industry, Barum Group constructs the supporting structures using highly specialised personnel and certified welding. All internal and external walls are made of insulated stainless-steel panels with polyurethane or rock wool sandwich insulation, capable of withstanding both low and high temperatures. The cabins are equipped with pressure-sealing doors, panic handles, and visual windows. The panels of the cabins can have an EI rating, depending on the wall thickness and density of the rock wool.
Additionally, upon request, we can provide flange components and tubes with certified welds with both destructive and non-destructive testing.
In our production, we have a range of rack structures with ideal dimensions for various usage needs that are highly functional in supporting control panels with sunshades for different types of installations.
At this point, all that remains is to take a look at the various proposals from Barum Group, such as the cabinet with a window and various accessories, available on our website. Made of stainless steel and other highly secure metals, it provides thermal insulation that guarantees maximum performance even in extreme temperatures.
Also, of our own production, there is the painted galvanised steel cabinet with insulation and polyurethane, and a sunshade roof.
Discover on our website the various possibilities for cabinet construction. You will be able to see different products specifically made for the petrochemical industry, such as the analysis cabin, made of painted carbon steel with canopies and HVAC structures, or insulated boxes with a top door opening, also equipped with a door lock.
